New Garage Door Installation
Explore replacement garage doors, materials, insulation, glass, and design options for homes around Charlotte. Request an on-site assessment of your opening and installation needs.

Replacement, renovation, and new construction
Door selection starts with opening measurements, headroom, side room, backroom, structure, and the intended use of the garage. Existing tracks, springs, and operators are evaluated for compatibility rather than assumed reusable. Custom sizing and specialty layouts require confirmation after a site assessment.
Materials and construction
Steel doors offer several insulation and backing configurations. Aluminum and glass designs emphasize visibility and appearance, while wood and wood-look materials have different weight, upkeep, and weather-exposure considerations. Selection depends on the opening, supported products, and how you use the garage.
- Insulated and non-insulated steel
- Steel-back and vinyl-back insulated construction
- Aluminum and full-view aluminum/glass
- Wood, wood-look composite, and faux wood finishes
- Custom overlay options, subject to availability
Styles, windows, and finishes
Raised and recessed panels, carriage-house designs, modern flush panels, and contemporary glass doors each change the appearance of the opening. Window location, tint, frosting, privacy glass, and insulated glass affect daylight and privacy. Confirm available colors, decorative hardware, and configurations for the chosen model.
- Traditional, carriage-house, and contemporary styles
- Tinted, frosted, privacy, and insulated glass
- Decorative and heavy-duty hardware
- Colors, finishes, and custom sizing
Insulation and weather performance
Polyurethane and polystyrene insulation differ in construction and thermal performance. Published R-values usually describe a product or section under specified conditions—not guaranteed whole-garage energy savings. Seals, panel joints, installation, windows, and the rest of the building envelope also matter. Wind-load suitability must be checked for the location and opening; insulation alone does not make a door wind-rated.
Product options to discuss
Clopay collections such as Canyon Ridge, Coachman, Bridgeport, Modern Steel, Gallery Steel, Classic Steel, and Avante, and Amarr doors including Classica, provide examples of design families to research. We also work on doors from Wayne Dalton, Raynor, CHI, Overhead Door, Hörmann, Haas, and other major residential and commercial manufacturers. Current model availability and configuration are confirmed before ordering. No authorized-dealer status is claimed.
Common questions
Is an insulated door worth considering?
It can be useful for an attached garage or a frequently used workspace. Benefits depend on climate, use, seals, windows, and the surrounding construction. It does not turn an unconditioned garage into a temperature-controlled room.
Can my existing opener stay?
Possibly, if its condition, rating, safety features, and configuration suit the new door. A heavier door or a different lift arrangement may require a different operator.
Can I choose a custom size or finish?
Ask about the opening and preferred design. Manufacturer configurations, lead times, compatibility, and availability need confirmation before an order or installation is arranged.
